Apostolic Plans, Final Instructions
The importance of love and unity within the body of Christ is essential for us to image God and to declare the gospel before the world. However, our humanity often draws us back into selfishness quickly destroying our unity. When we are selfish, we refuse to give to others because we horde our resources for ourselves; we refuse to accept others because they don't meet our standards; or we fail to recognize the good work that others are doing because we'd rather people notice us. Paul encourages us to love in all that we do (1 Cor 16:14), and if we could manage this simple yet difficult command, our church and our impact would be much stronger. May God grant us the grace to love through His Spirit who unites us.
This Sunday at Liberty the Sunday school hour will focus on David's return to Jerusalem following Absolom's rebellion in 2 Samuel 19 as part of our Rise and Fall of the King series. We will finish the Being the Body series in 1 Corinthians in the morning worship as we consider Paul's final instructions in 1 Corinthians 16. In the evening worship we will look at Psalm 119:9-16 and the necessity of God's Word in the believer's life. I trust that Thanksgiving provided you with opportunities to rejoice in the goodness and faithfulness of God. Our worship this Sunday will aim to encourage further thankfulness as well. May our gracious God bring us safely together for the worship of His great name.
