The God Man
One of my children asked today if we could open our gifts early. The anticipation is building! The day is coming soon, when we will celebrate the incarnation of God. What a wonder as we consider God made flesh and dwelling among us. It is no wonder that we sing songs at this time of year that emphasize the joy and worship that ought to fill our hearts as we welcome the newborn King. This anticipation for Christmas provides a glimpse of how we ought to feel as we anticipate the fulfillment of all God's promises especially the one that Jesus Christ will come again. May we anticipate His second coming even more than we anticipate the celebration of His first coming.
This Sunday is Christmas Eve. Our schedule is significantly different because of the holiday, so please note that there will be no Sunday school or adult Bible study this weekend. There will be coffee fellowship beginning around 9:30am, this will be followed by our morning worship service at 10:45am (the normal time), in which we will look at two more significant and specific prophecies (Isa 7:14 & Mic 5:2) that show us the hope of Christmas. For our evening worship we are having a Christmas Eve candlelight worship service at 5pm. This will be a service of congregational worship and readings, and it will be an hour or less leaving plenty of time for family afterwards. O come, all ye faithful, O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord. See you Sunday!
