Favor with God
Anyone can claim to walk with God, but how can any of us know who among us is actually doing so? Enoch walked with God but we are given very little else about him in Scripture to determine how it could be determined other than his faith recorded in Hebrews 11. Noah is said to walk with God, and immediately following that record, we are told the details of the ark and the report of Noah's obedience of everything God told him to do. Anyone who claims to have a relationship with God, but fails to live in the Spirit and obey His commands, is a liar; that is the message of 1 John 1:6, "If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth." May we walk in the light as He is in the light and obey His word as Noah did.
This week at Liberty we will continue our Sunday school series in the doctrines of God and the Bible with Jeff Tuttle teaching us on inspiration. Our morning worship will continue our Origins series in Genesis 1-11 as we look at God's command to Noah to build the ark (Gen 6:8-22). Our evening worship will be special as we welcome five new members into our body with four baptisms. These services are important times in the life of the body of Christ as we affirm testimonies of our brothers and sisters and encouraging them through a fellowship afterward. I look forward to our gathering as the body of Christ to worship Him and learn from Him.
