Varied Members, Satisfied Living
"The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." It is very easy for us to grow discontent in our lives as we look at others and their circumstances and think that they have it so much better than us. This even happens in ministry; I was talking to a pastor friend this week about his feelings of envy for popular churches with celebrity status. But God calls us to live satisfied and content because of who we are in Christ. May we be content with where God has us as we aim to be found faithful.
I hope you are planning on being at church on Sunday to worship our God and learn from His Word. This week, our Sunday school study in 1 Samuel will turn attention to David and a pretty well-known story from his life that even our toddlers have been learning about lately. In the morning service we celebrate the Lord's table as we continue our Being the Body series in 1 Corinthians and look at our calling and contentment in 1 Cor 7. In the evening service we will be talking through some broader vision/goals/organizational things that I think are pretty important.
