The Messiah’s Authoritative Quickening

posted in: Sunday Stuff 0

God is the giver of life. We believe that through Christ He created and sustains us and all that is. Yet we fail to look to Him for the spiritual life that we need. We are quick to turn our attention to physical things that promise us life but cannot deliver. We can be convinced that money, marriage, food, grades, championships, entertainment, and stuff can all provide life; in fact, when we have those things, we say, “That’s living!” But the life that these imposters provide is temporary and unsustainable. For they don’t truly give life, they merely highlight the good gift of life that God gave us in the beginning. The only way that life can truly be living is when it is lived through the life that Jesus Christ can provide, and it is abundant life that He provides (Jn 10:10). Let’s no longer look to these fading realities and myths that claim to have life; instead let’s look to the one true God and creator of life, Jesus Christ. – Pastor Rory Martin
